The effect of laser power and scanning speed on forming structure in selective laser melting process

Abstract With the continuous development of ship technology, usage environment some parts has changed, with higher requirements for materials and preparation technology being put forward. Some traditional structural have do not meet actual working conditions ships, which necessitates new research on their technology. Owing to its high strength stable mechanical properties at temperature, molybdenum base alloy is expected replace nickel aluminum primary material in ships. Under conventional method, impurity elements quite complex there are limitations shape formed parts. This experiment uses spherical pure powder as raw material. The effects laser power, thickness, scanning speed distance microstructure during selective melting process were studied optimum parameters determined. Laser power can seriously affect quality forming In this experiment, by comparing density internal holes under different parameters, best was determined: 325 watts, 400 mm s −1 , thickness 30 μ m, 40 m. Meanwhile, workpiece largest, up 94.92%.
